Prep Extracurricular

The classrooms at Wycombe Prep are consistently buzzing with dynamic learning opportunities, and our commitment to education goes beyond the school walls. The nearby Rye Park, right at our doorstep, becomes an extension of our learning environment. It is an ideal space for Art lessons, offering expansive open areas that grant pupils freedom during PE and Games lessons. Additionally, the park provides endless possibilities for Science investigations, exploring habitats, forces, light, shadows, and more.

Every term, each class embarks on a full-day trip that aligns closely with classroom learning. These excursions give pupils the chance to experience firsthand the incredible theatres, museums, and venues in our local area. Recent destinations include the Science Museum, Whipsnade Zoo, Hazard Alley, Wycombe Swan, Imperial War Museum, Odds Farm, and the Natural History Museum.

Independence and confidence are key components of successful learning. That’s why our residential trips are integral to our approach. Even at seven years old, Year 3 pupils participate in outward bound trips to develop independence, teamwork, and critical thinking skills. Meanwhile, our Year 6 pupils eagerly anticipate a week of skiing in Italy or France, a tradition that not only provides exhilarating physical activity, but also nurtures essential life skills in an adventurous setting. These experiences contribute to the well-rounded development of our pupils, ensuring they not only excel academically but also emerge as resilient, self-assured learners prepared for the challenges ahead.
